Information Technology / Software/AI Engineering Program
The Information Technology and Software Engineering Program at Centerville High School offers an intensive two-year curriculum for 11th and 12th graders, focusing on Software Engineering, Network Engineering, Web Design, Application Development, Security, and Databases. Students participate in hands-on labs, website creation, and team projects, equipping them with real-world skills and a professional portfolio.
Students can earn college credits through the College Credit Plus Program and achieve certifications like PC Pro, Networks Pro, and IT Fundamentals. The curriculum includes Python Data Analytics using Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib, along with Python projects such as AI chatbots, to-do apps, and weather applications that utilize APIs. A focus on AI Engineering prepares students to implement machine learning algorithms.
By emphasizing hands-on learning, the program promotes teamwork, critical thinking, and effective communication.
